Skinny Pizzas

Everyone loves a good pizza. Unfortunately, when we’re cutting back on junk food or trying to meet certain nutritional goals, it is definitely not on the menu. Until now. Indulge those zesty, cowabunga-cravings with a slice of this delicious, healthier pizza alternative that will leave you with all the satisfaction and none of the guilt.

Skinny Pizzas

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Sandwich Skinny Multigrain roll
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese (or vegan cheese substitute)
  • Fresh spinach
  • 1/2 fresh tomato, thinly sliced
  • Onion, thinly sliced
  • Basil
  • Oregano

Begin by splitting the sandwich roll in two and placing each bun into a toaster or oven until evenly toasted and crisp on both sides. Remove and spread one tablespoon of tomato sauce evenly over the surface of each bun, then layer with spinach, tomato, onion and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle a pinch of basil and oregano over top and bake at 350° until cheese is melted to a golden brown. Remove from oven and place immediately into your belly. Makes two skinny pizzas. Feel free to experiment with your own favorite toppings and pizza-on, my friends.
